Spring Gives a Good Smell !
For lo, the winter is past,The rain is over and gone. The flower appears on the earth; The time of singing has come,And the voice of the turtledoveIs heard in our land.
The fig tree puts forth her green figs,And the vines with the tender grapesGive a good smell.Rise up, my love, my fair one,And come away!
XSong 2:11-13
I love the smell of spring. The way it feels on my skin and the way it resolves the February musk of winter into a salubrious breeze. The gloom is over and gone and the flowers return to the welcome of the turtledove song.
A mask for snow, the cherry blossoms bloom and fall, bloom and fall, sashaying onto the ground with the softness and weightlessness of nascent petals.
It¡¦s like everything is new again and the heart is content with the thought that every good thing is possible.
Spring gives a good hope¡Xfor the natural world, for the spirit, the body, the mind, and the soul. Our thoughts and outlook take a breather from being heavy and solemn, and the smile lines naturally return from a bubbling-up effect unleashed from our insides.
Ever since the weather turned pleasant recently, I find myself looking forward to something just to look forward to something. This must be what love is like¡Xlove from our Beloved to us.
His love, whether touched for the first time or replenished over and over again, is like the return of spring.
When we are filled with His spirit, it¡¦s like a well of joy and newness burgeoning from our insides and permeating our whole being. When we are filled with His love, what can we not smile about?
With the fullness of His spirit bolstering us, we have hope even when nothing is going right. We walk on ahead even though we haven¡¦t a clue what next steps to take. And when our situation tells us we ought to feel anxious and downtrodden, we still have something to look forward to.
When our Beloved say to us, ¡§Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away!¡¨ He is showing us the carefree life He meant for us; the kind that is anchored in His love and His spirit, which puts complete trust in His promise to take care of us.
And this is our half of the dialogue with our Beloved: to live a life that is joyful, hopeful, and able to face every challenge with His strength. Yes, He wants us to appreciate His spring to the fullest, down to how it smells.
