How to Overcome Fear?

But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” (Mk 4:40)

Mark 4:37 reads, “and a great windstorm arose,” a storm so threatened their lives that the disciples asked their sleeping Master if He did not care that they perished. Some of life’s storms such as job loss, family illness or death, financial difficulty, accidents, or pestilence may come upon us suddenly. In the midst of a storm, we are scared and cry out to God. We pray earnestly but if God does not give any apparent response or delay His help, we may ask does Jesus care? With great fear, His disciples woke Jesus up and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” In our distress, we ask the same question, “Lord, do You not care my grief and my difficulty? I need Your help now.”

Jesus’ reply was: “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

When we can not hold on to the security of this world, we need to hold on to our faith. Faith must endure trials. You must trust when all else fails. When it is hopeless, remember what Jesus told Jairus, the father of the dead girl, “Don’t be afraid; just believe” (Mk 5:36). But if you are still afraid, simply look up and say, “When I am afraid, I will trust in you” as David did in Psalm 56:3.

When disturbing things come our way, remember to “take heed and be quiet.” The Lord assures us that “‘in returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.’ But you would not” (Isa 30:15). Yes, indeed it is we who refuse, not God. The Lord is our strength, but it is up to us to find that strength through prayer and communion with God. God is always ready. Jesus took the lifeless girl’s hand and said, “Little girl, arise.” (Mk 5:41) The question is, are we ready to take His hand?

Do not look ahead to the changes and challenges of this life in fear. Instead, as they arise look at them with the full assurance that God will deliver you out of them. So hold His loving hand tightly and He will lead you safely through all things.

Do not look ahead to what may happen tomorrow. The same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow and every day. Either He will shield you from suffering or He will give you His unwavering strength that you may bear it. Be at peace then, and set aside all anxious thoughts and worries.

“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.” (1 Pet 4:1-2)

Our fear of loss may be relieved if we are armed with the same attitude as Jesus Christ – a willingness to suffer. Some people are used to live in big houses or drive a nice cars. When they lose their jobs or businesses, they may use illegal methods to gain money to maintain their living standard–thus they sin against God because they are not willing to suffer. We need to adjust our lifestyle and living standard according to what we have and be content.

We may not necessarily suffer in our lives, but as Christians, we must have the willingness to suffer. This determination is a spiritual weapon, for it means that whether in prosperity or tribulation, we stand rooted, focused on the eternal. We are not afraid of present and momentary sufferings.

“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” (Phi 4:4). Don’t become discouraged. Always rejoice in the Lord, and He will be your source of strength to overcome any fear.

Thanks God he has heard my prayer....
but then i look back and say.. have i made the right decision?

HELLO (: Something nice I came across!

I haven't always been a teacup, there was a time in my life where I was just a clay. Then my Master took me and began to pat and mold and shape me. It was very painful and I begged Him to smile, but He only smiled and said "not yet".

Then he placed me on a spinning wheel and I went round and round. I got so sick I thought I wasn't going to make it, but then He finally let me off. Just as I thought I was going to be alright, my Master put me into an oven. I never understood why He wanted to burn me; I yelled a begged for Him to stop, to let me out. I could see dimly through the glass in the oven door, but He only smiled, shook His head and said, "not yet".

Finally He came and took me out. "Oh that sure feels better," I said to myself. Then all of a sudden, my Master picked me up and started sanding and brushing me. Then He took a paintbrush and started painting colours all over me. The fumes were so strong, I thought I was going to pass out. I pleaded with Him to stop, but He continued to smile and said "not yet".

Then He placed me in another oven. This one was twice as hot as the first. I knew that I would suffocate. I begged, I pleaded, I cried, but He only smiled and said "not yet".
I began to feel there was no hope. I would never make it. I couldn't take any more. It was all over for me. I decided to give it all up. Then the door swung open, and Master said: "NOW!"

He lifted me up and He placed me on a shelf to rest. Later He came to me with a mirror and told me to look. As I looked at myself, I could not believe my eyes! I said: "Oh, what a beautiful tea cup!"

Then the Master explained: "I want you to understand that I knew it hurt when I patted and molded you. I knew the spinning wheel made you sick. But if I had left you alone, you would have dried up and always just have been a lump of clay. You would not have had any personality in your life."

"I knew it was hot when I put you in the first oven, but if I hadn't, you would just have crumbled." "I knew it bothered you to be brushed and painted, but if I hadn't, you would not have had any colour in your life."

"Oh, how I knew the second oven was hard for you! But you see, if I had not put you there, you would not have been able to stand the pressures of life."

"Your strength would not have lasted, so you would not have survived for very long. So you see, when you thought it was all so very hard, I still had you in My care. I knew all along what you would be today. I had the finished product in mind from the day I first touched you."

All of us, like the tea cup, have to go through pains in life. Because through it, we are made a better person; a stronger Christian. So let us have faith in the Lord and entrust everything to Him especially during trials. Let us not fall away from Him, because truly, we will be a stronger person when we continually persist on.

Hm.. i feel that through trials. our relationship with God draws nearer and closer.
However if one does not go through trial.. is like one who does not go through training like a sportsman running 100m.. in olympics.. He would have to train everyday .. sweat and drink water..

Today is the last day of holidays..

hm... well today we went to penguin island... it was suuuper cold.., Thanks God nothing major happened , all went well =)
Although the first time we went.. it was alot more water , and no seaweeddds.><"

hm.. no big waves too hahaha... later we started splashin water on everyone , WIND was huge.. so we lift water to the air and let the wind carry it and smash into them XD

The Mountain

My computer has been on a long journey and died.
BEEP BEEP it went and auto-matically shut down.
In an instant my hobby to chat online on the computer
was taken and vanished away from me.

I scream in agony as anger rages in my arms.
It has a mind of its own trying to revive the sacred computer.

Day after day, second after second my results shows me that the computer
doesen't entertain you, you entertain the computer. It shrieks and laughs at you, provoking you as you try to restore the system of the computer.

But..

Before you knew it, the computer drained fragments of your life turning it into nothing but nothing.
My computer has been on a long journey and died.
BEEP BEEP it went and auto-matically shut down is when i put on a golden crown and took master over the computer who was trying to put me down!.

Follow the adventures of Philemon, Onesimus, and Paul as they seek to make good what was lost, and embrace what is ahead.
Read Paul’s letter to Philemon.
Bible Passage: Philemon
If ever there were to be a single-episode drama written based on an entire book of the Bible, Paul’s epistle to Philemon would qualify as one of the likeliest stories to make the cut. Joseph and Jacob have their own epic soap opera, while Peter and John have their own voyage adventures, Philemon and Onesimus would make for a good heart-warming story.
Act 1 Scene 1
Philemon discovers that his household slave has gone missing. He paces up and down his courtyard wondering what caused the turn of events.
Philemon:
“What is this unease that fills my heart? Where are you, my slave, where are you, oh unlucky Onesimus?”
Did I treat you unfairly or make your life unpleasant? Such that you have taken flight from my presence.
Oh Onesimus, Onesimus…”
Servant #1:
“Sir, if I may add, you did no wrong. Onesimus had always been one with a wanderer’s heart.
Take heart, and be well, sir.”
Act 2 Scene 1
Either in Rome or Ephesus. Onesimus has just heard the good news from Paul.
Onesimus:
“This saving news of Christ. Wow. I stand amazed. Even I am allowed to be made new again.
I mean… I am a slave.
And a runaway one at that…
Why should I even have this chance to turn back?”
Paul:
“Yes, dear friend, this is precisely why God’s grace reaches even to the sinner.
You’ve heard my testimony already, and you know what manner of crimes and sins I did commit.
When you do accept God’s grace, and be baptised for your sins to be washed away….
…then you and I, we’ll both be brothers”
Onesimus:
“This is all too wonderful. I was meant to be recaptured and stoned.
I don’t deserve to live on…
But this God, I do believe in Him, and He compels me to give myself to Him.
…I want to be baptised.”
Act 2 Scene 2
After Onesimus’ baptism and full conversion to Christianity. Back at the residence of Paul.
Onesimus:
“Dear Brother, thank God for this grace.
It’s just… Amazing. Beyond my wildest comprehensions!
Paul:
“Now you know and feel for yourself.
I experienced it too, and yes, what amazing grace!”
Onesimus:
“Aye Aye! Beyond the grandest sounds of all the world even…”
Act 2 Scene 3
Onesimus talks to Paul about the possibility of his return. He describes his fear at the prospect of death at his master’s hand. Paul comforts him, and encourages him that Christians should not harbour ill intents towards each other.
Onesimus:
“But if I return, Master Philemon might not spare my life.
And I still wish to serve my God that saved me…”
Paul:
“Surely, our God is merciful and understands your thoughts towards Him!
Not to worry, dear friend. I will write to my dear old friend Philemon and persuade him as a Christian to act as a fellow Christian.”
Act 3 Scene 1
Paul has written the epistle to Philemon, pleading the cause of Onesimus on his behalf. Paul asks Philemon to charge whatever wrong or monetary loss committed by Onesimus to his own account. More importantly, he entreats Philemon to be reminded of the Christian love that bonds the 3 of them henceforth.
Paul:
“There, this is done. May our God move the heart of Philemon.
And you, Onesimus… You are to return to your master.
Admittedly, I would wish for you to stay.
You are a good worker.
But, no… You should go back to your rightful master, OK?”
Onesimus:
“Yes, brother, I guess you are right.
I must return and make amends for my error.
And prove the blood of Christ worthy upon me.”
Act 4 Scene 1
Onesimus has delivered the letter to Philemon. Philemon reads it, is pleased to know he has gained a brother-in-Christ. They embrace. They give glory to Christ.
The letter is stored away safely, and in the future, Philemon would read it to his descendants, and others, and others, and others…
Christians in the True Church:
“Such was the grace of God upon Onesimus.
We were once slaves to sin too.
We escaped, were redeemed and were saved into Him.
No longer should we be in bondage to the world.
We now return to serve our Master, working as His fellow workers, to testify of the same grace He gave us.
All Glory to Him. Hallelujah!”

Today at school during special badminton~ somone served me the ball or whatever its called and i smash it and it hit the guys heard directly~

She said that many of the members doing in the work in church are not exactly trained for it. But through the grace of God and His guidance, they were able to do the work.

Somthing about a sister saying... in church that although we are not trained ... it is by God's grace that they are able to do the work~. e.g like R.E teaching ..

It says about We think we may have knowledge about God... but we somtimes we do not draw closer to him and tend to forget about God.

Summary
The summary of this all is this: Do not think too highly of ourselves. God is above all and always knows best. We just have to know His will constantly and the best way to do so is by reading His Word, praying and drawing close to Him by attending services as often as possible.

I just thought.. what happen if i can make a very nice piano melody piece?

so.. my little sister thought i would give up~...

and so.. i got an intro.. and gave up after that....

but when i played the intro to my sister.. she said
" it sounds nice"

gave me hope.. and so i went on creating my body.. although... im not so creative and sure of the flow~.......

i've only been playing piano for around 1 year or so...

We can talk to God about anything through prayers.
Philippians 4:6-7:Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Depending on the contents, it could either be a prayer for ourselves or a prayer for others (intercessory).
I. Pray for self
There are many purposes to pray for ourselves; the most important is to draw closer to God, as follows:
1. Draw near to God; Grow in your relationship with God.
James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” The secret for a close relationship with God is to pray to him often. Do you have a regular time to pray and read God’s Word? Spending time with God nurtures a vital relationship. It equips us to meet life’s challenges and struggles.
Romans 8:26-27:Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
2. Give praise and thanksgiving.3. Understand God’s will and have desire to do God’s will.4. Ask for guidance: present problems and ask for help.5. Ask for strength, grace, and comfort to deal with life difficulties.6. Confess and repent.7. Overcome temptation.8. Overcome worry, guilt, disappointment, weariness, and anger (all negative feelings).9. Increase faith.10. Ask for health.11. Request for daily needs.12. Receive power to do good things, power to love, and power to obey God’s commandments.
As our faith in God increases, God increases the power available in us to do good things. Develop the discipline of spending time alone with God – it will help you to grow spirituality and become more and more like Christ
II. Pray for others - intercessory
1. Pray for our loved ones: our children, spouse, parents, friends, and relatives.How do we pray for our beloved ones and fellow believers?
Colossians 1:3-4, 9-11:3 We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints;9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy.
Be thankful for their faith and changed lives (vv. 3-4)
Ask God to help them to know what He wants them to do (v.9)
Ask God to give them deep spiritual understanding (v.9)
Ask God to help them to live for Him (v.10)
Ask God to give them more knowledge of Him (v.10)
Ask God to give them strength for perseverance (v.11)
Ask God to fill them with joy, strength, and thankfulness (v.11)
2. For people who are in need, who are physically or spiritually weak, or who are in tribulation.
3. For enemies (it is hard!).Do you pray for those who try to hurt you? Or do you seek revenge, asking God to help you to get even? Those who have a deep relationship with God can remain firm under pressure and pray for their attackers (like Moses). It is not the child’s job to discipline a sibling, but the parents’. In the same way, it is not our job to seek revenge against those who wronged us. God will make certain that, in the end, justice is carried out.
4. For the church and God’s holy work.Church has one central purpose – that is to build up the congregation and to glorify God. Unity and maturity are the two goals of building up the church. Prayer is important for evangelism.
Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.(Luke 10:2)
Jesus’ saying above suggested that before praying for the unsaved people, we should pray that more people will be concerned and participated in the evangelical works. The evangelical works include reaching out to preach the gospel and following up. Follow up is a task that requires long term commitment. It is not a task of one-time preaching or minimal contact. It may take years to help a truth seeker to grow into a true believer.
